Terms of Service

Plain-English rules for using Scout. The short version: we help you find and prepare for opportunities, we don't control the opportunities, and you should always check before you apply or pay anyone.

01

What Scout is

Scout is an AI career assistant built by Tanra. It finds internships, freelance projects and jobs that are publicly listed on other platforms, matches them to the skills you give us, and helps you prepare applications (cover letters, pitches, interview prep, a tracker and more).

By creating an account or using Scout you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Scout.

02

Who can use Scout

Scout is for people aged 15 and above. If you are under 18, you may use Scout only with the knowledge and permission of a parent or guardian, who is also bound by these Terms on your behalf.

You must give us true information about yourself. Do not create an account for someone else or use another person's email.

03

Your account

You sign in with Google or with a 6-digit code sent to your email. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and for keeping your inbox secure.

One person, one account. Tell us at hello.tanra@gmail.com if you think someone else has accessed yours.

04

Listings and matches

Listings on Scout are collected from third-party websites and job boards. Tanra is not the employer, recruiter or client, does not post these opportunities, and is not a party to anything you agree with an employer or client.

  • We do not guarantee that a listing is genuine, still open, correctly described, or that you will hear back.
  • Match scores and “Scout Security” indicators are automated estimates, not verification. Always check the company yourself.
  • Never pay money to apply for, or to “secure”, a job or internship. If something asks for a fee, treat it as a scam and report it to us.
  • Applying happens on the third party's site, under their terms and privacy policy.

05

AI-generated content

Cover letters, application emails, pitches, resume text, interview prep and career paths are generated by AI models. They can be wrong, generic, or out of date.

Read and edit everything before you send it. You are responsible for what you submit to employers and clients, including its accuracy. Do not rely on Scout for legal, financial or professional advice.

06

Acceptable use

Do not:

  • scrape, copy or resell Scout's listings or data at scale, or use bots to access Scout;
  • probe, attack or try to bypass limits, security or access controls;
  • submit false, misleading or unlawful content, or content that infringes someone else's rights;
  • use Scout to spam, harass or defraud employers, clients or other people.

We may limit, suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.

07

Free beta and paid plans

Scout is currently in a free beta. Some features have daily limits. We plan to introduce paid plans later. We will not charge you for anything without showing you the price first and getting your clear confirmation. Any benefits offered to early members are described inside the app at the time you join.

Features may change, be limited or be removed while we are in beta.

08

Your data

What we collect: your email; the details you enter in onboarding (name, age, city, education stage, skills, what you are looking for); your applications, tracker entries and text you write or generate in Scout; and basic usage and device information.

Why: to create your account, match you to listings, generate content for you, send you the emails you expect from us (sign-in codes, welcome, product updates about Scout), keep Scout secure, and understand how to improve it.

Who else handles it: we use service providers to run Scout, including Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email), Google (optional sign-in) and Groq (AI text generation, which receives the text needed to write your content). They process data only to provide their service to us.

We do not sell your personal data. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing hello.tanra@gmail.com; deleting your account removes your profile and tracker.

09

Ownership

Scout's design, code, brand and the way listings are organised belong to Tanra. Listings themselves belong to their original publishers.

What you write is yours. You give us permission to store and process it so we can run Scout for you.

10

Disclaimers and liability

Scout is provided “as is” during beta, without promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will get you an interview, offer or income.

To the extent the law allows, Tanra is not liable for losses arising from third-party listings, employers or clients, scams, AI-generated content, missed opportunities, or downtime. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11

Ending your use

You can stop using Scout and ask us to delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or end access if you break these Terms or if we need to stop the service.

12

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Scout grows. When we make a material change we will tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Scout after a change means you accept it.

13

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Hyderabad, Telangana have jurisdiction, unless the law gives you the right to go elsewhere.
